We've been making great progress on our Seesmic Desktop Platform and have been working with a number of developers and partners who are building installable plugins that will enhance the way you manage your stream and online presence.

Our own development team is continuing to refine the core platform making it as solid and seamless for our developers and partners to create some great installable plugins. Our current development community (which you can view in our mailing list) is very active and growing and we're looking to plan some dev meetups and similar events very soon. Watch out for some upcoming announcements in a bit.

Simple plugins such as a picture preview for a number of image services like Tweetphoto, or previewing venue information for messages from Foursquare are already making this desktop a very powerful tool.

With a combination of reaching out to our community for inspiration through our feedback forum, connecting with potential partners to help build and make their awesome product available through plugins, or gathering interested developers to creatively build plugins on available API's, we're very happy at our progress and excited when we release later next month. We'll continue to work on adding more plugins to make Seesmic Desktop one of the most powerful and customizable tools to manage your online community.

We'll be looking to highlight various plugins, companies, developers and our own team very soon. In the meantime, if you're a developer, you can review http://devwiki.seesmic.com/ and come join our development community at http://groups.google.com/group/seesmic-desktop-dev - both our own developers and the community will answer any questions that you might have.

If you're a company inquiring more information on what it takes to build a plugin, feel free to contact us at bizdev [at] seesmic [dot] com.

If you're a user and wanting to make sure your needs are met with plugins, you can go to our feedback forum and review, add or vote for your plugin here at:.http://feedback.seesmic.com/forums/52485-plugins-seesmic-desktop-platform
